May 4: Hoof rats in the garden!

Wildlife certainly have clearcut rules, governed by the seasons, and are naturally balanced until humans interfere.  However, since we have taken over their natural habitats, they occasionally they overstep the mark in gardens. But, Riley saved the day this morning, barking like mad,  as they were about to chomp down on all the new hostas that are peeping through in my garden, so they moved a little further to the grass at the letter box! Well done Riley...garden saved until tomorrow. I am still amazed to see them grazing on the front lawn and not hanging from the meat tree!!
