July 16: Emergency vet
The environment around you shapes who you are. How you handle an emergency or how you react when someone is rude to you, that's you. Halsey
I try not to overreact in an emergency, and am also like an ostrich, burying my head in the sand, hoping that everything will just fix itself. So, I did a little of this with Riley being sick, thinking that he had just eaten something bad, and would soon be better. But, when he couldn’t stand up to go outside, then I knew that we needed to do something urgent. Of course, it would be on the day that we have an open house and the regular vets are closed. Anyhoo, managed to do all necessary and found a very nice emergency 24 h animal hospital....just in time. After several hours and many tests, accompanied by many dollars, I am relieved that he does not have Lyme disease, as suspected, but a bad case of rotten duck poop! We are on our away home with a bag full of medication and some anti acids, that will hopefully do the trick!
