March 16: Leftovers from the storms

I have seen many storms in my life. Most storms have caught me by surprise, so I had to learn very quickly to look further and understand that I am not capable of controlling the weather, to exercise the art of patience and to respect the fury of nature. Paulo Coelho

I have experienced many different types of storms, mostly big booming thunderstorms, and a few big snow storms more recently. Even, those with hail, pummeling the car and shattering the windscreen on the autobahn! But, in comparison, I was not scared. When they mention 'nor'easter' here, I am petrified, not of the snow, but of the wind. It seems that when the conditions are just right...only half frozen soggy ground, the trees just keel over, and with the heavy wet snow their limbs become so heavy they just fall off, creating devastation everywhere. This is on the path just below our house with hundreds of trees uprooted. I am so grateful that we were left relatively unscathed...our angels are working overtime to protect us!! I have a very healthy respect for nature!
