February 13: The winds of change
Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness. Desmond Tutu
After many years of political turmoil in our country of origin, it looks as though there may be hope after all! It has been surreal watching this from afar with snapshots on the news or online, while watching what is going on in our current country. I know it is important to stand firm in your beliefs, but sometimes I would rather let life go on around me, oblivious to the truth. But, if not for our sake, for the future's of our children, we need to do what is right - keep ourselves educated, stand up for what we believe in. Fight for equality, fight against hunger and poverty. Fight against violence. Fight against greed. Fight for basic human rights. It is important to look for the light in the darkness, and keep the hope alive!
