March 30: Good Friday

The symbolic language of the crucifixion is the death of the old paradigm; resurrection is a leap into a whole new way of thinking. Deepak Chopra

Since we have been sharing cars for some time, I ended up walking to and from a beautiful tenebrae Good Friday service. We have had such iffy weather, and it rained on my walk up. But, after leaving the service in total silence and just continuing to walk, my breath was taken away by the beauty of the almost full moon through the clouds and trees, somehow deepening the service I had just experienced. The whole experience of the crucifixion of Jesus through the service of readings and music made me ponder my existence, and how I could be a better person, sinner that I am. I seem to fail miserably on a daily basis in trying to not sin, but yet, there is hope of the resurrection coming, and I was overwhelmed with a feeling of hope in the dark, quite solitude in the moonlight on my way home.
